The project
AUTOSAR is a global consortium dedicated to standardizing the infrastructure for in-vehicle software. In addition to major automakers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, General Motors, and Stellantis, the consortium includes major suppliers such as Bosch, Continental, and ZF, as well as approximately 350 other companies from the international automotive industry. The AUTOSAR standard is established worldwide and is currently available in two different versions: the Classic Platform and the Adaptive Platform.
Various software development methods, technologies, and software tools are used to document and create the standards, enabling the automated generation of the extensive and complex standard documents. Due to the standard’s ongoing evolution, the toolchains used for the creation process must also be continuously adapted and modified.
As part of a long-term service contract, the develop group was entrusted with overall responsibility for the build process of the AUTOSAR standards and for the necessary tool landscape. In addition, the develop group also handles the UML-based modeling of all basic software interfaces of the AUTOSAR Classic Platform.
Our responsibilities
- Configuration, ongoing development, and operation of a complex toolset for the automated generation of AUTOSAR standards (scope: more than 30,000 pages per standard variant)
- Development and maintenance of proprietary authoring tools for the standards’ application interfaces modeled in UML
- Modeling of the base software interfaces for the AUTOSAR Classic Platform
