The project
A global market leader in passive vehicle safety technology is a Tier 1 supplier to several premium automotive manufacturers (OEMs) and supplies, among other things, seatbelt pretensioners and steering wheels. To monitor project status and ensure product quality, the OEM requires regular process assessments in accordance with Automotive SPICE® (Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination). In this context, the product development process for software-defined systems is examined using the ASPICE® process reference model, and potential deviations and corrective measures are identified.
The develop group was commissioned to conduct several ASPICE® assessments across various projects to both initially measure process quality at the Tier 1 supplier and determine the effectiveness of improvement measures.
Our responsibilities
- Planning assessments and coordinating the scope of assessments with the OEM and the customer, particularly with regard to the selection of instances
- Conducting assessments through on-site and remote sessions
- Identifying measures for process improvement
- Preparing assessment reports and evaluating weaknesses (risks) and opportunities (potential for improvement) in processes
- Validating the improvement measures derived from the results
