Project management of AUTOSAR standardization processes

AUTOSAR is a global consortium dedicated to standardizing the infrastructure for in-vehicle software. In addition to major automakers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, General Motors, and Stellantis, the consortium includes major suppliers like Bosch, Continental, and ZF, as well as approximately 350 other companies from the international automotive industry. The AUTOSAR standard is established worldwide and is currently available in two different versions: the Classic Platform and the Adaptive Platform.

A wide variety of tasks must be managed to ensure the smooth development of the AUTOSAR standards. While the content is developed within the partners’ expert committees, the development process of the standards must be guided and supported, and the creation of the standard documents must be ensured.

As part of a long-term service contract, the develop group was entrusted with overall functional and technical project management for the development of both standard platforms. In addition, the develop group also assumes overall responsibility for both standardization platforms in the areas of change management, quality assurance, process definition and automation, as well as advising development partners on the technical implementation of the standard.
